FEES

Before taking charge of a case, in consultation as in litigation, we necessarily proceed with a free consultation of approximately one hour in our premises with the client. This allows us to see the file and determine, in view of its specificity, whether we are competent to deal with it.

It should be noted that the lawyer’s fees are set freely by the lawyer and that their amount is calculated in two ways:

  • Flat rate : the lawyer and his client agree a fixed total amount that will cover all the diligences accomplished, regardless of the time spent on the file. For example, our law firm may charge  2,500 euros (excluding VAT) for litigation before the High Court, as it does for Intellectual Property cases when simple. The flat rate may be lower if an additional fee for the result is added, for example 10% of the amount of damages obtained in favor of the client.
  • At the hourly rate : here the amount is calculated according to the time actually spent on the file. Our hourly rate is 200 euros (excluding VAT). Naturally, at the end of the first consultation, the client is informed of the number of hours expected to be processed.

In addition, the firm may accept legal aid in some cases.

In any event, we ensure that our clients are never surprised by the amount shown on the invoice. This is an ethical requirement.
